Today is Pentecost Sunday, the day when we celebrate the Holy Spirit being poured out on God’s people; we celebrate this act of the Holy Spirit that demonstrates God’s overwhelming desire and love for creation. It’s a good day to start our new series The Body’s Grace: Theology and Sexuality. Over the next few weeks we’ll consider four themes: sexuality and ethics, sexuality and intimacy, sexuality and power, the church and same sex relationships. Today we’ll consider sexuality and ethics: what is the prevailing sexual ethic in our society, and does Christianity have a workable alternative?
