Acts 2:1-21

Today we continue celebration of three significant ‘feast’ days in the Christian calendar: Ascension, Pentecost and Trinity. Baptists, historically, are not of a liturgical tradition; but a new ecumenical spirit of sharing means that all traditions can benefit each other. These great ‘feasts’ provide opportunity to reflect theologically on our faith. But, as with all theology, its theology applied. The Ascension of Christ, Pentecost and Trinity all have the potential to impact our understanding of God and ourselves and shape the way we live. Pentecost is 50 days after Easter: on Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the Holy Spirit inspiring the Church to participate in God’s mission in the world.
