Matthew 4:18-25

Today is the second Sunday in Lent – our series during Lent is called A Sent People – we’ll consider Gospel stories that remind us that God is both a ‘sent’ God and a ‘sending’ God. The Latin word for sending is missio – theologians talk about the ‘missio dei’, the sending, or mission, of God. During Lent we will be invited to consider what it means for us to be the sent people of God. This morning we look at Matthew 4:18-25; where Jesus calls Peter and Andrew, James and John as his first disciples and begins his ministry of preaching, teaching and healing in Galilee.
