We provide spaces for our Central children and young people to meet together most weeks during our worship service. Read on for more details.
We have a creche for small children at the back of the church with toys, changing facilities and a toilet. Parents can hear what is happening in the auditorium through the speaker system.
Children from 3 years of age up to Year 6 at school head downstairs for Kids’ Church after the first 20 or so minutes of the church service.
We generally follow a theme for a term. We sing songs, play games, listen to stories and learn about growing in God together. There is plenty of time for exploration and play, which encourages the children to get to know each other and develop strong relationships.
A small morning tea is provided. Please let the leaders know if your child has any allergies.
If your child has any specific needs that we should know about, contact the church office or one of the Pastors who will put you in touch with one of the Kids’ church leaders.
Junior Youth Group (JYG)
JYG is for children in Years 6 – 8 at school and meet on Sunday at the same time as Kids’ Church.
This group focuses on learning more about the Bible and asking some of those tricky questions about faith.
The first Sunday of the month at Central is a communion service and JYG do not meet on this Sunday. The JYG children are invited to join the service and their leaders have activities available for them. The JYG children can also help out with Kids’ Church and use this time to develop relationships with the younger children.
College aged students meet together on Sunday mornings at the same time as Kid’s Church and JYG. Being a geographically dispersed church (people come to Central from across the Wellington region), this is a good opportunity for our young people to meet and develop strong relationships while talking about God stuff together.
The first Sunday of the month is a communion service and the Youth Group stay in church during this service.
The Youth Group also meet during the week on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8.30pm at 327 Willis Street. For more information get in touch with Stephen Bowater via the church office.
