A bit like this
So, you’re thinking of coming to Central on Sunday morning—we’d love to see you!
We are a central city church who has found its home in the city since 1878. We aspire to be a diverse, caring Christ-centred community.
We are on a journey of learning about treaty partnership with Māori – one expression of this is the use of te reo Māori, particularly waiata and karakia in our services.
We encourage you to participate in our services in a way that feels comfortable – you don’t need to stand, sit, sing, or pray if you don’t want to! We want to provide meaningful ways for people to connect with God and each other. Our services typically include music, prayers, children’s spot and a sermon. Sometimes we’ll have a discussion, or silence, or images to ponder. We hope you’ll find something in our service that helps you connect.
When we meet together our service starts at 10:00a.m, with fair trade coffee available in the foyer from 9:45, and you’re welcome to take it in to the service. You’ll find free parking in the Wilson car park across the road from the church.
We like to include Central’s kids in the service before they head downstairs to children’s church where there are stories, games and morning tea. Upstairs, we have tea and coffee after the service too.
We hope that we’re a bit like this
