Welcome
Our theme is “Celebrate Community” inspired by Acts 14:27a - “They gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them”.

Call to Worship
Holy God, living Love, beginning and end,
giver of food and drink, clothing and warmth, love and hope:
life in all its goodness
we praise and adore you.
Jesus, lover of outcasts, friend of the poor;
One of us, and one with God
crucified and risen:
life in the midst of death –
we praise and adore you.
Holy Spirit, breath of love
Bridge-builder, eye opener
Unseen and unexpected,
Counsellor, advocate on our behalf
We praise and adore you.
God alone, yet God in community
Drawing us together as one just as you are one
We praise and adore you.

Prayer for the World
Father, we seek Your wisdom daily. Be with people making decisions that affect the lives and futures of our families, our community, our country, and the world. May truth and empathy be the touchstones of people setting policies for our protection.
Jesus, it can be scary and overwhelming not knowing how bills and obligations will be met or not being able to provide for families. As people feel financial strain during the uncertainty, bring them comfort and peace, reminding them that You are there for them. Work through us to provide for them in their times of need.
Dear Lord, we ask you to comfort the family of George Floyd who was murdered by police officers in the US. Please bring justice and reform to systems there as well as here that harbour racism and discrimination. God, we have heard your call to love our neighbours as ourselves. Anything that divides us one from another and allows us to dehumanize and devalue any of your children does not come from you.
Unite us in this grief, draw us nearer to one another, and move us to action. Help us to dismantle systems of injustice and build new ones based on mercy, justice, and love for all people.
Reveal in us the truth of your love.
We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
OFFERING: Please continue to give generously to support ministry within the Central family and to the wider community. We have lost nearly all our rental income due to the lockdown, so we really appreciate your generosity.

This Week’s Message
To view the video of the 5 messages, click here.
Today we are celebrating ‘community’ – being together again in person after our two-month journey on lockdown. Rather than a single message, we’re going to have a “community sermon” something like we did at Church camp. I have invited 5 people to share a 2-minute reflection on one of two questions:
“How have you seen God at work during the lockdown in yourself or your whānau?”
“ What new insights have you learned about ‘being and doing church’ during lockdown?”

Communion
On this Trinity Sunday, we will have a special time of celebration as a community – when we remember what Jesus has done for us, his life, death, resurrection and his promise to return and set things right in the world.

You are God’s people, gifted with dreams and visions.
Upon you rests the grace of God like flames of fire.
Love and serve the Lord in the strength of the Spirit.
